Remember: this week seniors are taking the SAT on Tuesday and juniors are taking the PSAT on Thursdays. Only students who are testing will come to campus on those days. These are optional asynchronous teaching days as well.
Dodge Poetry Festival is happening NOW. I've heard it is wonderful, but I am just starting to check it out. They give free passes to students and educators here: https://www.dodgepoetryfestival.org/

If you're not familiar with her work, here is the blurb Inprint gives:
BRIT BENNETT’s second novel The Vanishing Half, published in June 2020, is taking the country by storm. The book was an instant #1 New York Times best seller, was named “Best Book of the Year” by Entertainment Weekly, Vulture, USA Today, GQ, Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, and Bustle, and was long listed for the National Book Award. According to Lisa Page in The Washington Post, “Reinvention and erasure are two sides of the same coin. Bennett asks us to consider the meaning of authenticity when we are faced with racism, colorism, sexism and homophobia. What price do we pay to be ourselves? How many of us choose to escape what is expected of us? And what happens to the other side of the equation, the side we leave behind? The Vanishing Half answers all these questions in this exquisite story of love, survival and triumph.”
